CAMX 2024 Celebrates 10 Years of Innovation and Growth in San Diego

September 25, 2024, ARLINGTON, VA & DIAMOND BAR, CA – From September 9 – 12, CAMX – The Composites and Advanced Materials Expo, produced by the American Composites Manufacturers Association (ACMA) and the Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering (SAMPE), celebrated its 10th anniversary at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, CA. The event brought together nearly 500 exhibitors and over 6,300 attendees, an 11% increase over 2023, marking another milestone in the composites and advanced materials industry.

The CAMX conference program this year featured an impressive 81 technical papers, over 130 speakers, 7 campfire sessions, 9 featured sessions, 23 education sessions, 4 tutorials, and 2 facility tours, making it one of the most comprehensive CAMX events to date. This lineup provided attendees with deep insights into the latest innovations and trends in composites manufacturing, sustainability, and advanced materials.

The anniversary celebration kicked off with a thought-provoking General Session and Keynote Address delivered by futurist Maurice Conti. His presentation highlighted the evolving role of technology, AI, and materials science in shaping the future, inspiring attendees with a vision of what’s to come in the next decade of composites innovation.

“It’s incredible to witness how far CAMX has come in 10 years,” said Cindy L. Squires, Esq., ACMA President and CEO. “Maurice Conti’s insights into the future of technology, materials, and advanced manufacturing were inspiring, and it’s clear that our industry is poised to lead the charge in innovation for decades to come.”

The CAMX Exhibit Hall showcased a diverse array of businesses from industries including aerospace, automotive, architecture, 3-D printing, marine, transportation, recycling, wind energy, construction and infrastructure, sports and leisure, software, and academic research. Attendees had the opportunity to see cutting-edge solutions and network with key players shaping the future of composites.

“CAMX has firmly established itself as North America’s premier event for the composites industry,” said Rebekah Stacha, SAMPE CEO. “The depth and breadth of innovation on display made it clear that CAMX is well positioned to continue to push boundaries and drive progress with the innovations that shape the world around us.”

On Thursday, the event concluded with Good Day CAMX, held at the CAMX Theatre in the exhibit hall. This engaging session wrapped up the event with a lively discussion of key industry trends, showcasing the dynamic future ahead for the composites and advanced materials sector.

As CAMX celebrates its 10th anniversary, the event remains a cornerstone for the industry, driving innovation and collaboration across a wide range of markets.
